Starting out the Sandpiper line is a dapper and sexy ensemble created from the mind of the legendary rags-to-riches Brume orphan, Andromeda of House Laruzedah. Dubbed the “Queen of Hearts”, The proprietress of the Bandee Pakshee makes a stark entrance with a form-fitting suit-and-pants combo made from gaja leather, accented with long, black heeled thighboots.
The burgundy coat is made from the ever-popular Hannish silk, with a gold brocade pattern of Ishgardian nature - a callback to her roots - topped with the Pakshee’s crest by the lapel as a broach. The final piece of the ensemble as an extra feature is the cane-like parasol created with a red-and-gold gradient, matching the outer coat.
No self-respecting seeker of high fashion would dare settle for such lowly tatters. This attire - and the Madame Herself - is incontrovertible evidence that even thieves can become royalty with the right moves, and the right hands. Steal the eyes and minds of your onlookers as you stride with the seductive confidence that only a queen among thieves (and hearts) can bring!

The
sun rose high over the Bounty, breaking through the cloud cover. Upon
the island of Thavnair, a local dance troupe paid homage to the Mother
of the Kriegstanz in the most apt manner: through a ritual of frenetic
footwork and ringing blades. While the spectacle alone was of no small
matter, the true catalyst was the garments they wore - the billowing
fabrics and vibrant colors lost in its own dance not unlike that of its
wearers.
Locals
and tourists alike gathered by the altar, equal parts mesmerized by the
troupe’s performance and their unique garb. The Hippo Riders from
Vanaspati halted their route to Svarna to behold the scene; one of the
observant Arkasodara pointed out a certain crowned cloudkin perched atop
the statue of Kadjaya. Now noticing it had been spotted, the winged
responded with a graceful swoop through a tunnel of parting chakrams,
darting through the crowd before soaring into the clear heavens - in the
direction of Radz-at-Han.
The
captive audience then looked towards the center of the altar, gathering
around what appeared to be a parcel containing a sizeable number of
magazines, all in pristine condition. Upon the cover was a slender
female Hyur of the Midlander persuasion, wearing attire most dapper,
sporting a dignified demeanor and a sly yet alluring countenance,
standing before a lavish pleasure hall; a songbird encaged in mythril
was seen beside her. A beat passed as the crowd exchanged silent glares
at one another, and before too long, an army of fashion faithful began
marching down the Wakeful Torana, alerting the Radiant Host, only to be
relieved by the response that was given when asked:
“The Regalia’s latest issue has come! The Bandee Pakshee Chayan!”
The
marriage of two great businesses of Hannish origin - the Higuri Regalia
& the Bandee Pakshee - have resulted in yet another breakthrough. Created in secret over the past summer, they
have brought forth a clothing line for all spectrums, from the daring
to the risque, and has paved the way to new avenues - and new outlooks -
of haute couture. What lies beyond these precious pages - these
velvety veils…?
For
those who have the coin - or the good graces of the Diamond Sultan -
and the thirst, the will, and the passion to embrace high fashion, one
need only seek out the Higuri Regalia to acquire an issue.
Opening
the catalogue’s contents, you would find a picture of the Diamond
Sultan on the very first page, and a foreword on the other, undoubtedly
by the aforementioned merchant-lord of fashion…

setting thanks to their practicality, I still offer the Anti-Glamour
enchantment for those seeking to wear or utilize them in less strenuous
junctures. This ensures the garments are unmarred and ultimately
broken beyond repair - Halone forbid - as numerous people are so
insistent on charging into battle wearing the most impractical of
outfits…”
“Nevertheless, you are more than welcome to commission them full retail should you possess the coin, but for those who would intend to wear these in a non-combat setting, this is the ideal route to take. You may send all commission requests to either myself, Treasurer Susuna, or any of my Head Secretaries if you are interested in receiving enlightenment.”

Bandee Pakshee made the Goblet ABSOLUTELY LIT with our amazing DJ pals Spiralfruit and Deast, as well as performances from Rommie and Kynuh! We had a blast kicking off the summer and highlighting Eorzea Pride!

a great thing about people transitioning is it presents us with scenarios where we have the perfect control variable to undeniably reveal sexism in the workplace. I read about a trans man neuroscientist who was told he was “so much smarter than his sister” (his sister being his pre-transition self)
and damn i knew the gaming industry was notoriously sexist (even more sexist than other stem fields, and that’s saying a lot) but seeing it laid out so clearly like this is so demoralizing.
